Barbeque/ Barbecue/ BBQ

Kicking this off on a touchy topic.  Folks can't even agree on what to call it other than heaven.

My favorite barbeque is The Germantown Commissary.  Corky's is also great, but my money is on The Commissary.  The tamales can't be beat either.

As for the Rendevous, it will always be the place my cousins and I went to celebrate the eldest of us getting his driver's license.  First time the three of us ventured downtown alone.  We all felt so grown-up.   I remember the bouncer's big shiny gun on his hip as we descended the staircase.  Much to my father's later dismay, I ordered a cheese plate.

I recommend you explore them all and let me know what you think.

Give Me Memphis

I love Memphis.

I love my family whose Memphis ties stretch back generations.  From my great-grandfather's ice cream parlor that he lost in the Great Depression to feeding the ducks at the Peabody or Overton Park, Memphis is home to me and full of memories and love.

As for "Mae Wood," it's not my real name.  I'm sure any native Memphian could guess that.  But for you who don't know Memphis (yet),
